NSGDatacom’s Pico Turbo II Product Release

ASCOT, UK – January 24, 2011 – NSGDatacom is pleased to announce the release of a Paknet compatible version of its popular Pico Turbo II gateway for Legacy to IP migration. The newly released product allows Paknet users such as ARCs (Alarm Receiving Companies), Data Collectors and Utility companies to connect transparently to IP Host’s, eliminating the requirement for multiple serial connections. No changes are required to the user’s application’s equipment base.

The Pico Turbo II is a widely deployed protocol conversion and gateway device for transitioning Legacy applications to IP. The latest release is designed specifically to operate with the Vodafone Paknet service in the United Kingdom. The Pico Turbo II interfaces transparently to the Paknet service and converts the incoming and outgoing X25 data streams to and from multiple users into IP format directly connecting to an IP Host. The Pico Turbo II supports applications using both virtual and physical communication ports. Deploying Pico Turbo II eliminates the requirement for multiplexing equipment such as multiple Radio Pad’s, X25 PADs and concentrators at the Host site, reducing hardware costs, saving space, reducing carbon footprint and increasing reliability. This functionality ensures that the Pico Turbo II is a proven and truly transparent IP to Paknet gateway.
This new release of the Pico Turbo II extends NSGDatacom’s commitment to support its legacy customer base using the Dynatech/Dynetcom CPX range of packet switching products to access the Paknet service in the UK, and other similar networks worldwide.
